Since we elected Matt…Cedar Park Regional Medical Center negotiated, completed, and opened…1890 Ranch shopping center negotiated, completed and opened multiple phases…Cedar Park Center approved by voters, negotiated, built, and opened on September 26, 2009…our first movie theater opened…police staffing finally restored to recommended levels…Fire Station #4 completed and opened…Fire Station #1 approved by voters, relocated, rebuilt, and opened…Fire Station #5 land secured and first phase of staffing funded…CPFD upgraded to ISO 1, the highest possible fire department rating in the U.S.…our first state-of-the-art “quint” fire trucks were purchased and put into operation…Cedar Park Recreation Center built (about $1M under budget!) and opened…City logo created and branding guidelines adopted…bandit signs scrapped in favor of upscale kiosk signs…Veteran’s Memorial Pool designed, built and opened…Brushy Creek Sports Park designed, built and opened…public transportation master plan adopted…New Hope Road improvements completed…Keen on Clean events initiated and quickly become a popular annual event…Heritage Festival created…Independence Day Parades begin…Veterans Day Parades begin…fireworks added to SplashJam…Cedar Park selected as “Top Ten Place to Raise a Family in the United States” by Family Circle…major CPYL baseball field improvements…stronger, safer guidelines for door-to-door sales enacted…Treasure of the Hills Senior Center roof replaced…three new hotels have opened, bringing in valuable occupancy tax revenue…extra funds for library collection enhancements and upgraded checkout system…intersection safety and capacity improvements…expanded city maintenance facilities…water conservation program…Council meetings televised and streamed live on the internet…Three separate city bond rating upgrades and an amazing three-level utility bond rating upgrade…new water lines…improvements (including curb and gutter) to El Salido Parkway…positive re-rating of the water treatment plant…$2M odor abatement system approved and implemented at wastewater plant…Rosemary Denny Park completely refurbished…greatly expanded residential recycling program implemented…Cedar Park named 2nd safest city in Texas (over 50,000 population)…long-awaited major improvements to East and West Park Street completed…major improvements to West Brushy Creek Road completed…Veteran’s Park approved by voters, designed, and completed…the Veteran’s Memorial was designed, funded, and built through a citizen’s committee…new City Hall campus purchased at great savings to previous plans…traffic signal optimization program implemented…Public Arts Committee formed and funding streams created outside of the general fund…the Cedar Park Sculpture Garden was conceived, funded, and opened…we welcomed the Deer Creek, Twin Creeks, and Bella Vista neighborhoods into Cedar Park through voluntary annexations and ensured their residents top-level emergency services…a new emergency egress route for Riviera Springs residents was studied and approved…the Lime Creek Quarry was finally purchased from the City of Austin, and all blasting operations now have an established end date…Costco selected Cedar Park and opened with their largest store opening in U.S. history…primary employers like Fallbrook, Dana, Firefly Space Systems, Corvalent, and LiveOps have selected Cedar Park for headquarters and/or major operations…our sales tax collections have increased from $4.1M per penny in FY05 to over $11M in FY15…and property tax rates have been lowered for three consecutive years, staying well below the rate of per-capita inflation.

In fact, despite all of the above, our property tax rates are now at a 14 year low.
